What I Learned in 2020

I’m sure I don’t need to go into detail as to why twenty-twenty was a lot, for everyone. Normally at this time of year I would do a recap, but I wasn’t sure it was worth doing for this year specifically. A few days ago I saw some people on twitter listing their 2020 achievements despite the pandemic, which I felt ambivalent about. Upon thinking about it, I realised I could instead write a “what I learned this year” post, which would acknowledge both the bad and the good of this year. I am going to be completely honest with this, as 2020 was a wild ride — and I ended up actually learning a lot about myself, too.

So, without furder ado, let’s just jump straight into it! In no particular order, here is what I learned in 2020.

Changes & Projects

It’s already the end of September! This month has gone by so quickly, mostly due to having to re-adjust not only to university starting again, but to whole new modules, new lecturers, and of course, it being all online. I think I’ve finally hit a good spot for balance, which also means I can finally update my blog with some real life news!

Lockdown Reflection

Hello blog. It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Last time I posted, I hinted that I was going to do a 2020 Resolutions with basically all of my intentions for this year. Boy, am I very glad I never got around to making that post.

Today, I want to talk about lockdown and how that felt like, and write my own personal reflection on it and a few other things connected to it — mainly motivation, purpose, burnout, routines and mental health.

October Updates

It’s halfway through October — and also halfway through my October break; so I thought, what better time to write an update in my blog?

I originally wanted to write a few Tea Reflections, and I still have them planned, but right now I’m not in a headspace for writing something that requires a lot of energy, but I still wanted to write in my blog — hence this life update instead.

So, it’s time for an old-fashioned life update, divided into categories for easier writing!

Tea Reflection: Not-Burnout

It’s Sunday and I’m currently having a cup of tea. We all know what this means: time for a Tea Reflection! Today, I want to talk about a very odd feeling I’m having at the moment: not experiencing burnout… but feeling like I should.
