What I Learned in 2020

I’m sure I don’t need to go into detail as to why twenty-twenty was a lot, for everyone. Normally at this time of year I would do a recap, but I wasn’t sure it was worth doing for this year specifically. A few days ago I saw some people on twitter listing their 2020 achievements despite the pandemic, which I felt ambivalent about. Upon thinking about it, I realised I could instead write a “what I learned this year” post, which would acknowledge both the bad and the good of this year. I am going to be completely honest with this, as 2020 was a wild ride — and I ended up actually learning a lot about myself, too.

So, without furder ado, let’s just jump straight into it! In no particular order, here is what I learned in 2020.

Twenty-nine.

I never imagined by twenty-ninth birthday would be spent in the middle of a global pandemic, and yet here we are. ? What a milestone, eh?

As is tradition, I usually write a blog post on my birthday to reflect on me getting older — but this year I don’t really feel like doing that so much; and yes, it’s definitely because of the pandemic. This entire year has felt a bit like a non-year so far. Even so, I want to write something positive; so here’s a list of things I’ve learned and am grateful for, even in 2020. ❤️

Lockdown Reflection

Hello blog. It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Last time I posted, I hinted that I was going to do a 2020 Resolutions with basically all of my intentions for this year. Boy, am I very glad I never got around to making that post.

Today, I want to talk about lockdown and how that felt like, and write my own personal reflection on it and a few other things connected to it — mainly motivation, purpose, burnout, routines and mental health.

End of 2019 Reflections

I can’t believe it’s the end of 2019. This year has flown by and now 2020 is almost upon us. Many people are recapping their 2019s (and even the whole decade) and I wanted to do so as well, just in my own way.

October Updates

It’s halfway through October — and also halfway through my October break; so I thought, what better time to write an update in my blog?

I originally wanted to write a few Tea Reflections, and I still have them planned, but right now I’m not in a headspace for writing something that requires a lot of energy, but I still wanted to write in my blog — hence this life update instead.

So, it’s time for an old-fashioned life update, divided into categories for easier writing!
